Sean Brady put on an elite performance against Leon Edwards and made it known the welterweight division has a new top contender.
In Saturday’s UFC London main event, Brady made it look easy against a former champion as he neutralized Edwards through the first three rounds of their fight and was well on his way to a decision win. The Philadelphia native didn’t settle for the judges’ call though, taking matters into his own hands and submitting Edwards with a guillotine choke in Round 4.
It was the first time ever that Edwards lost a fight by knockout or submission.
Brady’s fellow fighters were ecstatic over his complete showing, with the likes of Henry Cejudo, Gilbert Burns, Chris Weidman, Stephen Thompson, and Johnny Eblen all singing his praises. Cejudo suggested he get a chance to fight Shavkat Rakhmonov to determine the No. 1 contender for the welterweight title, while Eblen and Terrance McKinney both suggested he should get the next shot regardless.

Belal is fighting JMD, I'm sure Shavkat will be next for title after that. I'd like to Brady vs Buckley next for contender. Two good wrestlers, one more active with striking but the other more dominate on the ground! #bookit #UFCLondon
