Some familiar faces are set to work the UFC 311 event in Los Angeles on Saturday with the referee and judging assignments revealed by the California State Athletic Commission.
CSAC executive director Andy Foster confirmed the assignments in a message to MMA Fighting on Thursday.
Among the officials working the event, UFC Hall of Famer Frank Trigg is set to serve as a referee for several fights on the card. Trigg has been a mainstay as a referee in California for the past few years and he’s continued to work his way into higher-profile fights with more experience on his resume.,
At UFC 311, Trigg is set to referee the lightweight showdown between Renato Moicano and Beneil Dariush on the main card while also serving as the third man in the octagon for two more fights on the prelims.
Meanwhile, UFC veteran Chris Leben is set to work the event as a judge where he’ll be scoring several fights including the co-main event where Merab Dvalishvili takes on Umar Nurmagomedov with the bantamweight title going up for grabs.
Leben has also worked as a referee in recent years but now he’ll work as a judge for the UFC’s upcoming return to California.
Herb Dean is set to referee the main event where Islam Makhachev takes on Arman Tsarukyan in a rematch as they clash with the UFC lightweight title on the line. The three judges scoring that contest are Sal D’Amato, Derek Cleary, and Ron McCarthy.
For the co-main event pitting Dvalishvili against Nurmagomedov, Jason Herzog is set to referee the fight with Leben, Chris Crail, and Michael Bell serving as judges.
