UFC might want to give Torrez Finney another call soon.
Finney was victorious on the most recent season of Dana White’s Contender Series, but was not signed to a contract, leaving him to continue developing on the regional scene. The 25-year-old did just that at a Combat Night event in Jacksonville, Fla., on Saturday, landing the haymaker to end all haymakers on Tyson Jeffries.
Watch the explosive knockout below.
In the brief clip, Finney is seen stepping forward with an overhand right and catching all of Jeffries’ head. The camera angle perfectly captures Jeffries’ scary fall as he collapses face-first onto the canvas, with Finney enjoying a well-deserved walk-off KO.
An on-screen graphic makes Torrez’s intentions crystal clear, asking “Is he ready, Dana White?”
Finney improved to 7-0 with the win. At a hulking 5-foot-8, Finney is short for the middleweight division, but if he continues to rack up finishes like this one, he can expect to get another Contender Series shot next season.
