Ciryl Gane and Alex Pereira won’t be fighting inside the octagon anytime soon, but that doesn’t mean fans can’t have some fun imagining how that matchup might go down.
The UFC stars did their part to provide fantasy fodder as they squared up at an Ares FC event in France on Thursday, though obviously neither man took the faceoff too seriously.

Gane, a former interim heavyweight champion, and current UFC light heavyweight champion Pereira were in attendance to take part in a Q&A. The event took place before the official weigh-ins for Ares FC 18, which takes place at Palais des Sports Marcel-Cerdan in Levallois-Perret, France, and airs live on UFC Fight Pass this Friday starting at 1 p.m. ET.
While it’s entirely possible that Pereira jumps up another weight class—he has already claimed UFC titles at 205 and 185 pounds—to challenge Gane someday, for now he awaits his first challenger for his newly won light heavyweight title. Gane’s next fight is also pending as he looms as a possible challenger for interim heavyweight champion Tom Aspinall.
Watch video of their Q&A below.
