Derrick Lewis won’t be on the sidelines long following his 35-second knockout win in the main event of UFC Nashville, but the majority of the fighters will be sitting out a bit longer.
Following Saturday’s Fight Night event, the Tennessee Athletic Commission confirmed the medical suspensions for all of the competitors with MMA Fighting. After his quick finish of Tallison Teixeira in the event’s headliner, Lewis only receives a seven-day suspension.
For Teixeira, he’ll be out longer, as we was hit with a 45-day suspension, with no contact for 30 days.
Three fighters on the card received 180-day suspensions: Mike Davis, following his stoppage win over Mitch Ramirez, along with Junior Tafa and Kennedy Nzechukwu, both of whom lost by submission in Nashville.
Co-main event winner Gabriel Bonfim was hit with a 30-day sit, while Stephen Thompson received 45 days following a hard-fought effort in the welterweight contest.
Details were not provided as to why each fighter received a suspension.
