Two titles matches will top the UFC BJJ 2 card on July 31 at the UFC APEX, just days before the UFC Vegas card with Amir Albazi and Tatsuro Taira as headliners on Aug. 2.
Andrew Tackett will be the first to put a UFC BJJ title on the line, defending the welterweight throne versus Renato Canuto. A light heavyweight champion will be crowned in the co-main event, with Mason Fowler taking on David Garmo.
Tackett claimed the inaugural belt with a rear-naked choke over Andy Varela on June 25, and returns a month later to face Canuto, a IBJJF black-belt world champion with and without the gi.
Fowler is a black belt under Caio Terra and won multiple ADCC trials before joining the UFC grappling promotion. Garmo, his opponent, is a protege under Danny Agemy with multiple Quintet wins under his belt.
