Tracy Cortez will make the walk to the octagon for the first time in 2025 during International Fight Week.
Multiple people with knowledge of the promotion’s plans confirmed to MMA Fighting that Cortez is set to face Viviane Araujo in a flyweight matchup at UFC 317 on June 28 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. EuroSport was first to report the booking.
Araujo is coming off an upset win against Karine Silva at UFC 309 in November at the promotion’s annual trip to Madison Square Garden in New York City. Prior to that, “Vivi” dropped a unanimous decision to Natalia Silva at UFC Vegas 85 in February 2024. Araujo is currently ranked No. 12 in MMA Fighting’s Global Rankings at 125 pounds.
Cortez recently suffered her first UFC loss, and had her 11-fight win streak snapped. The 31-year-old headlined her first UFC event against former champ Rose Namajunas at UFC Denver this past June where she dropped a unanimous decision. Prior to that, Cortez defeated Jasmine Jasudavicius at Noche UFC in September 2023 via unanimous decision.
