Paige VanZant is getting her wish.
The UFC and BKFC veteran is set to compete in the first ever women’s title bout in Power Slap history when she returns to action on June 27 during International Fight Week in Las Vegas.
VanZant faces Mikael-Michelle Brown in a rematch to crown the first-ever Power Slap women’s flyweight champion with the card taking place at the Fontainebleau in Las Vegas just one day before UFC 317 take place at T-Mobile Arena.
In their first encounter, VanZant won in lopsided fashion with 30-27 scorecards across the board. Afterwards, she called for a Power Slap title shot.
“Hey Dana [White], where’s that [125-pound] belt, baby?” VanZant shouted after her win. “Put me on the next card. Let’s get some women’s belts. We’re here to stay. We’re here to knock bitches out and slap people all day.”
It was a bit of a surprise when VanZant first signed with Power Slap given her combat sports history competing in both the UFC and then transitioning into bare-knuckle fighting with BKFC. She won her first Power Slap match, but then went to a draw in her second appearance due to an illegal blow.
VanZant then picked up a win in her third match back in March, which is where she called for a future title bout.
Now, the 31-year-old gets her chance to add a championship to her résumé with the Power Slap title bout booked for June.
