Welcome to the latest edition of Missed Fists where we shine a light on fights from across the globe that may have been overlooked in these hectic times where it seems like there’s an MMA show every other day.
As you may have noticed around these parts, we make sure to note the names of not only the fighters fortunate enough to be delivering highlight-reel finishes, but also the less fortunate on the receiving end of these brutal techniques.
It’s a cliché, but it truly takes two to tango, and the clips we are privileged to enjoy wouldn’t be possible without a legion of warriors willing to go out on their shield. We remind you of this because in this edition of Missed Fists we had some truly tough sumbitches who refused to go down easy, resulting in some spectacular crashes.
(Big thanks as always to @Barrelelapierna for their weekly lists of the best KOs and submissions, and to @Grabaka_Hitman for uploading many of the clips you see here. Give them a follow and chip in on Patreon if you can.)
James Ford vs. Colton Emmerich
Zombies remain all the rage these days thanks to shows like The Last of Us (I know, I know, they’re not traditional zombies, they’re, like, weird fungus monsters. But for all intents and purpose: zombies), so good on Colton Emmerich for getting in on the ongoing craze. The pro debutant showed zero interest in putting his hands up to defend himself and just let James Ford tee off, perhaps expecting Ford to injure his leg kicking Emmerich’s head?
That strategy did not pay off.

I’m convinced Emmerich was already gone after taking that first head kick and everything after was just a fever dream to him. Yes, he’s clinching and even coming forward, but there’s nothing intelligent about Emmerich’s movements. Case in point, he eats another unprotected head kick shortly after, and then changes levels right into an uppercut that puts him down for good.
Or does it???
Emmerich’s body springs up on last time, just like any good movie monster, and luckily for him Ford sends him off with a wave and a smile as opposed to another devastating strike to the dome. Call it showboating if you want, I think Ford was going for both style points and signalling to the ref that he should probably do something.
Fury Challenger Series 13 is free to watch on YouTube.
Dominik Humburger vs. Samuel Kristofic
Piotr Wawrzyniak vs. Marek Mazuch
Daniel Skvor vs. Marc Doussis
Andrej Kalasnik vs. Mate Kertesz
Oktagon MMA’s latest event was filled with fighters throwing caution to the wind, none more so than Dominik Humburger and Samuel Kristofic.

That is the definition of a slugfest.
Jed Meshew and I recently enjoyed our umpteenth viewing of Kimbo Slice vs. Dada 5000 for a recent feature on the best Freakshow fights ever and this finish was reminiscent of that masterpiece’s conclusion. You get a prize if you can tell me exactly which Humburger strike actually ended this fight.
Piotr Wawrzyniak and Marek Mazuch also got the memo as these boys were just swangin’ in Czech Republic.
Poland, you have a quarterfinalist!

Just throwing with everything they had.
Next up, Marc Doussis. We salute you.
WHAT A KNOCKOUT!

Not to take anything away from Daniel Skvor who, you know, actually won the fight, but damn if Doussis didn’t execute one of the most drunken falls in recent memory. Hope he’s alright.
Tough acts to follow for Andrej Kalasnik, but we weren’t going to leave him getting all of this right hand and flattening Mate Kertesz.
Solomon Simon vs. Cristian Iorga
Solomon Simon, beautiful knockout. Cristian Iorga, even more beautiful stanky leg.

Crazyyy power at featherweight. Now 6-0, could he win a performance of the night bonus tonight?#CW188 pic.twitter.com/kgbZVL6OkB
And the belly flop! That is just a full body convulsion, though it’s good to see Iorga standing up shortly after even if he will likely never have any memory of this fight.
Cage Warriors 188 is available for replay on UFC Fight Pass.
Takumi Suzuki vs. Toshiki Mori
Kazuki Ito vs. Shuto Shibata
Spoiler for this next clip from a DEEP event in Shizuoka, Japan: The guy with the green hair wins.

My goodness, a lot of folks were eating canvas this past weekend. And you can add Shuto Shibata to that list.
11 second flying knee KO by Kazuki Ito in his professional debut today at DEEP pic.twitter.com/2YJ1SFS7wJ
— caposa (@Grabaka_Hitman) April 27, 2025
The culprit? Kazuki Ito with a jumping knee and a flurry of punches that stopped the fight 11 seconds in.
Samba Sima vs. Kleider Sandoval
Ito did THAT in his pro debut and somehow that might not have been the most violent performance by an athlete cashing a fight check for the first time. At Hexagone MMA 27 in Lille, France, Samba Sima methodically set Kleider Sandoval up for a stunning head kick KO.

Those body kicks had Sandoval seeing invisible bees swarming him and as he kept his hands low and tight—WHAM—Sima went upside his head.
O’Shay Jordan vs. Mark Currier
Chisom Ukoha vs. Cory Owens
Up next, from Tuff-N-Uff 143 in Las Vegas, another whopper of a head kick courtesy of O’Shay Jordan.

Good stuff, but Jordan loses major points for those post-KO hammerfists. Caught up in the moment or not, you can’t be pouring it on like that. Finger of shame.
Cory Owens on the other hand, left Chisom Ukoha no choice but to continue his assault until the inevitable happened.

You turn your back and start running like that, you’re just asking for trouble. And trouble found him.
Isaias Simoes vs. Jean Felipe Souza
The inaugural MMA University event went down in Sao Paulo and I cannot tell you how much I love that title. Please, let this promotion put on a hundred shows (at least).
Apparently, Isaias Simoes is majoring in spinning shit and if this is finish is any indication, the man is a damn scholar.

Wilson Melgar vs. CJ Goon
We had so many darkly comical falls this week, what better way to wrap up than with a pile-up from a Cagezilla FC event in Manassas, Va.
I’m not even completely sure what happened with that Wilson Melgar head kick… but I like it.
