Michel Pereira avenged Mauricio Rua and earned himself some extra cash all in one fell swoop.
The bombastic middleweight cashed another $50,000 Performance of the Night bonus on Saturday after choking Ihor Potieria unconscious on the main card of UFC 301. Pereira’s handiwork came just minutes after the UFC announced Rua’s induction into the 2024 class of the UFC Hall of Fame; Rua infamously lost to Potieria in his retirement fight in 2023.
Pereira has now cashed post-fight bonuses in four consecutive bouts.
Joining Pereira on the money train were Caio Borralho, Maurício Ruffy, and Alessandro Costa, all of whom earned additional $50,000 Performance of the Night bonuses.
Borralho knocked out Paul Craig on UFC 301’s pay-per-view opener, while Ruffy and Costa scored impressive knockouts of Jamie Mullarkey and Kevin Borjas on the night’s undercard.
UFC 301 took place May 4 at the Farmasi Arena in Rio de Janeiro. UFC flyweight champion Alexandre Pantoja defended his belt against Steve Erceg in the night’s main event.
