Derrick Lewis spoke loudly with his fists in the UFC Nashville main event and with another memorable post-fight celebration.
Following a 35-second knockout of Tallison Teixeira on Saturday at Bridgestone Arena, Lewis proceeded to remove his shorts, mime urinating in his opponent’s corner, throw his cup into the stands, moon the crowd, and then state his intentions to make love to his wife in his post-fight speech.

Speaking to cageside commenter and past octagon foe Daniel Cormier, Lewis explained the urination part of his antics.
“They been talking shit all week, man,” Lewis told Cormier. “Talking shit all week. I can’t speak Portuguese, but I know for sure they was talking shit about me. F*ck ‘em.”
Lewis’ celebrations have become a major part of his popularity in addition to his reputation as arguably the most feared knockout artist in UFC history. With his punch-out of Teixeira, Lewis extended his promotional record of KOs/TKOs to 16 and he is now tied with Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone for the most finishes in UFC history behind only Jim Miller (17) and Charles Oliveira (20).
The stoppage came with some controversy as referee Jason Herzog stepped in to wave off the bout with Teixeira working to get back to his feet. However, Lewis was landing hard punches and Teixiera was only able to stand up by illegally grabbing the fence with both hands.
Lewis didn’t appreciate Teixeira’s cheating.
“That’s a ho-ass move right there,” Lewis said. “I know I had his ass hurt.”
The 42-fight veteran went on to add he was not impressed with Teixeira’s 8-0 record heading into Saturday’s headliner, given the level of competition the Brazilian had faced up to this point.
“I just knew he’d been fighting tomato cans his whole career, so shit, I appreciate UFC helping your boy out and also I need some more of them taxi cab drivers they got in Brazil for my next fight,” Lewis siad. “I know them boys trying to ride a limo, but shit, they ain’t going to get it on me.”
At the evening’s post-fight press conference, Lewis elaborated on his feelings about the stoppage.
“Yes, I expected the ref [to step in],” Lewis said. “The ref should have been stopping it because [Teixeira] went in and out a couple of times before he even started grabbing the cage.”
“I know if I throw anything at anybody, no matter what it is, I know that they’re going to go down,” he added.
