Erin Blanchfield won’t go home as a winner after UFC Vegas 107 but at least she’ll get paid like one.
The veteran flyweight from New Jersey didn’t get to fight on Saturday night after her opponent Maycee Barber was not medically cleared to compete and the five-round main event was scrapped just before the athletes were scheduled to walk to the octagon. It was a disappointing end to fight week for Blanchfield but she won’t go home empty handed.
The UFC paid Blanchfield both her show and win bonus for the fight after the unfortunate cancellation.
Blanchfield’s longtime manager Oren Hodak from KO Reps confirmed the news to MMA Fighting after initially posting about her salary on Twitter.

It’s the best possible ending for Blanchfield given the circumstances with Barber pulling out of the fight at the last second after she also missed weight on Friday by a half-pound over the flyweight limit, which resulted in her forfeiting 20 percent of her purse.
While she obviously would have rather performed on Saturday, Blanchfield receiving her full pay gives her the chance to rest and recover from a full training camp before booking her next appearance in the UFC.
Just after the fight was cancelled, Blanchfield shot down any chance that she would rebook the fight against Barber at a later date but she’s still hoping for a top-ranked opponent when she returns.
“No, I would not want to book another fight with her,” Blanchfield said at the post-fight press conference. “I would like to reassess, see who’s available.
“I still want to fight within the top five, still push towards that title fight. I think I need to talk to my manager, talk to Mick [Maynard], see what can happen.”
Blanchfield is coming off a win over former UFC strawweight champion Rose Namajunas and remains one of the top potential challengers to current flyweight queen Valentina Shevchenko after she vanquished Manon Fiorot at UFC 315 in May.
