Max Holloway isn’t the only one in his family with serious punching power.
During a recent trip to South Korea, Holloway paired up with friend and post opponent Chan Sung Jung a.k.a. “The Korean Zombie” to explore the sights and sounds of Jung’s native country. Among the numerous activities—many of which were shared on the fighters’ respective social media accounts—involved a visit to an arcade, which was included in a vlog posted Friday by Holloway.
Predictably, Holloway and Jung tested their might on a punching game, but the result was not what either UFC star could have expected.
Watch the competition below.
Holloway fared better than Zombie, much like he did when they had a memorable bout at UFC Kallang in August 2023. That main event fight was billed as Zombie’s swan song and sure enough, Holloway sent him out on his shield with a vicious third-round knockout.
Their punching machine duel wasn’t quite as explosive, with Holloway managing a slightly higher score the first time around and then easily beating Zombie who surprisingly flopped on his second attempt (Holloway joked that Zombie broke the machine).
The twist came when Holloway’s wife, pro surfer Alessa Quizon, stepped up to the plate and knocked it out of the park, figuratively speaking. Quizon struck the punching machine bag and ended up with a score that topped her former featherweight champion husband, much to the delight of everyone watching.
In his illustrious career, Holloway has KO’d the likes of Zombie, Justin Gaethje, Jose Aldo, Anthony Pettis, and Brian Ortega, but you can bet Quizon will happily hold bragging rights over him for the rest of their lives.
Holloway’s vlog also featured plenty of food and “Blessed” joked that he’s concerned Zombie’s wining and dining could prevent him from making the UFC 318 lightweight main event on July 19, when Holloway is again being called upon to close out a peer’s career, that of the legendary Dustin Poirier.
“Korean Zombie trying to kill me,” Holloway said after ingesting some spicy food, later adding, “This trip has been so much fun and we’re getting to welterweight. So Dana [White], whoever you’ve got to blame, call Korean Zombie because I don’t know if I’m making ‘55 anytime soon.”
