Sodiq Yusuff is set to return to the octagon for the first time in over a year.
Multiple people with knowledge of the promotion’s plans confirmed to MMA Fighting that Yusuff will face Mairon Santos at UFC Vegas 106, which takes place May 17 at the UFC APEX in Las Vegas.
The matchup takes place at lightweight due to the short-notice nature of the booking.
Yusuff last competed at UFC 300 a year ago, where he was stopped by recent featherweight title challenger Diego Lopes in the first round. “Super” enters the bout on a two-fight skid, including a decision loss to Edson Barboza in the main event of UFC Vegas 81 in October 2023.
Santos is moving up a weight class for the bout after winning his first two octagon appearances. The Ultimate Fighter season 32 champion recently earned a split decision nod over Francis Marshall at UFC 313 in March.
UFC Vegas 106 is headlined by a welterweight clash between Gilbert Burns and Michael Morales.
