Ben Whittaker put a cap on one controversy and somehow found himself in another moments after.

Six months after their first meeting that ended in a draw after the fighters spilled out over the top rope, Whittaker and rival Liam Cameron settled the score, with Whittaker winning by second-round knockout Sunday in Birmingham, England. The end came when Whittaker (9-0-1) wobbled Cameron (27-6-1, 1 NC) with a right hand and followed with a flurry of punches that prompted the referee to step in for the stoppage.

Check out Whittaker’s finish and animated celebration below.

Whittaker may have gotten a little too up-close-and-personal with Cameron’s coaches as he was later accused of spitting at his opponent’s corner. He addressed the controversy speaking to Sky Sports after the fight.

“It was just the emotion, I was like: ‘Yeah, come on!’” Whittaker said. “If a bit of dribble came out… He knows I’d never do something like that.”

The footage does not appear to show any conclusive evidence that Whittaker spat at Cameron’s corner.

Whittaker, a 2020 silver medalist in boxing at the Tokyo Games, has been a rising star since turning pro in 2022 thanks to his entertaining and unorthodox fighting style.
