Raul Rosas Jr. has his next assignment as the 20-year-old bantamweight returns to action against Vince Morales in a new fight booked for the upcoming UFC Mexico City card on March 29.
Multiple people with knowledge of the promotion’s plans confirmed the news to MMA Fighting on Monday following an initial report from ESPN.
After initially joining the UFC roster as a teenager, Rosas scored a win in his octagon debut but then suffered an upset loss in his next appearance after falling to Christian Rodriguez by decision. Since then, Rosas has bounced back with three wins in a row including victory at UFC 306 this past September.
Now Rosas fights in Mexico for the first time under the UFC banner when he faces Morales in March.
A 25-fight veteran with two stints in the UFC, Morales is still looking for his first win since returning to the promotion last year. Most recently, Morales dropped a decision to Elijah Smith but he’ll attempt to deliver an upset when he faces Rosas at UFC Mexico City.
Rosas vs. Morales is the latest addition to the UFC Mexico City card with former flyweight champion Brandon Moreno facing one-time title challenger Steve Erceg in the main event.
