Nate Diaz is no longer facing any possible penalty after a judge dismissed a misdemeanor battery charge against the fighter over an alleged incident outside a Las Vegas nightclub in August 2024

Diaz’s representatives confirmed to MMA Fighting that the case was dismissed and online court records backup that the charges were thrown out.

The entire ordeal centered around an alleged altercation that took place outside the Omnia nightclub inside Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas.

Diaz and his friends were reportedly holding up the line when a security guard from the Omnia approached the ex-UFC fighter to see what was happening. The situation turned physical after Diaz allegedly pushed the security guard, who then pushed him back before Diaz allegedly hit the security guard in the face with “an open right hand.”

A video of the alleged altercation circulated back in September that shows Diaz shoving a person away by the face, knocking off their glasses before putting up his hands with more people swooping in to de-escalate the situation.

By the time police arrived, Diaz had already exited the building.

Now the ex-UFC fighter is officially off the hook for any potential punishment stemming from the incident after a judge dismissed the charges.

Diaz, 39, last fought in July 2024 when he scored a decision win over Jorge Masvidal in a boxing match held in California. More recently, the Stockton, Calif. native expressed his interest in potentially returning to the UFC but also stated that the fighters on the current roster just didn’t interest him while adding “there’s nobody doing shit in the UFC.”
