Maycee Barber will get her first UFC main event opportunity.
The promotion announced on Tuesday that Barber is set to face Erin Blanchfield in the main event of UFC Vegas 106. The card takes place May 31 at the UFC APEX in Las Vegas.
Blanchfield competed twice in 2024, which included suffering her first promotional loss to Manon Fiorot in the main event of UFC Atlantic City a little less than a year ago. “Cold Blooded” returned to the octagon at UFC Edmonton in November, where she picked up a unanimous decision victory over former multi-time strawweight champion Rose Namajunas. The No. 4 ranked flyweight in MMA Fighting’s Global Rankings is 7-1 in her UFC run.
Barber returns to action for the first time in 14 months, and does so carrying an impressive six-fight win streak, including a decision win in her most recent bout against past title challenger Katlyn Cerminara at UFC 299, as well as a stoppage victory over Amanda Ribas at UFC Jacksonville. The No. 7 ranked flyweight in MMA Fighting’s Global Rankings was set to headline UFC Denver against Namajunas this past July, but was forced to withdraw from the bout.
