Round 1

Moicano coming out with body kicks. Good jab by the challenger. Referee Herb Dean warns Moicano about outstretched fingers. Makhachev taking his time, not throwing much. Straight left by Makhachev, but Moicano is right there to answer back. Counter right by Moicano and there’s a slip by the champ, the crowd is in shock. Not a knockdown, but still!

Deep shot by Makhachev. The challenger is well-prepared, but Makhachev just powers through and gets him down. Two minutes to work.

Crowd booing Makhachev’s work from top, it sounds like they’re getting behind the underdog. Makhachev advances to half guard. Moicano wants to control his head, but Makhachev just sticks an elbow in his face.

Makhachev hunts for a D’Arce choke and gets it. Welp.
