In the main event, Gilbert Burns and Sean Brady must make the welterweight non-title fight limit of 171 pounds. A one-time UFC title challenger, Burns has dropped back-to-back bouts at the hands of Belal Muhammad and Jack Della Maddalena. Brady rebounded from a loss to Muhammad with a third-round submission of Kelvin Gastelum in December.
