Amanda Lemos and Virna Jandiroba made weight and are on track to battle for their spot in the strawweight contender line.
At Friday morning’s official weigh-ins for UFC Vegas 94, Lemos and Jandiroba both successfully beat the scale without issue, with Lemos coming in at 116 pounds and Jandiroba at 115.5 pounds. Their bout serves as Saturday’s main event, which takes place at UFC APEX in Las Vegas.
Lemos is targeting another shot at UFC gold as she is currently the No. 5 strawweight in the MMA Fighting Global Rankings and No. 16 on the Pound-for-Pound list. She challenged Zhang Weili for her title at UFC 288 in May 2023, but lost by unanimous decision.
Jandiroba enters Saturday as one of the hottest contenders at 115 pounds, having won three straight fights. The former Invicta FC champion is in her best run of form since joining the UFC in 2019, with consecutive wins over Loopy Godinez, Marina Rodriguez, and Angela Hill.
All 24 fighters competing Saturday successfully made weight.
