Mike Perry wants a piece of Conor McGregor if “The Notorious” ever signs on for a fight again.

McGregor recently took a shot at Perry in an Instagram Story post celebrating new light heavyweight champion Josh Dyer, writing, “You have never been bare-knuckle world champion. We made a fake belt for you... don’t mention Bare Knuckle FC again.”

The timing of the insult was certainly odd, but also nothing new in the ongoing saga between McGregor, BKFC’s part owner, and Perry, one of the promotion’s biggest stars. McGregor memorably “fired” Perry after the former UFC fighter lost a July 2024 boxing match to Jake Paul, while Perry suggested McGregor would lose to Paul worse than he did Floyd Mayweather Jr.

When McGregor’s recent comments were raised on Perry’s podcast, “Platinum” dismissed them.

“If people would rather see Conor talk about bare-knuckle than me fight in the ring in bare-knuckle, that’s their own prerogative,” Perry said. “I’ve been talking about my highlights all day today. I was watching them last night and I am a fun, frickin’ beast, to be honest with you. I get down and I bang in the ring.”

McGregor has been out of competition for nearly four years, having last fought at UFC 264 in July 2021. In that evening’s main event, McGregor broke his leg and suffered a second consecutive loss to longtime rival Dustin Poirier. He took time off to heal and also to promote and star in the 2024 remake of Road House. The 36-year-old’s return has also been clouded by his involvement in a pair of civil suits alleging sexual assault, including one tied to a 2019 incident in Dublin for which he was recently found liable.

Like many, Perry isn’t sure if McGregor ever fights again. But if he does, he’s willing to settle their score in the BKFC ring.

“Look, Conor ain’t even going to fight anymore,” Perry said. “He’s just talking. If he wanted to fight somebody, he should fight me, and they need to go ahead and give me a matchup so that I can go ahead, get in the ring, knock out someone’s teeth, make a big spectacle out of all of it, and then we can make any fight they want to make happen for the big bucks, too.”

Perry has not fought since the loss to Paul. Prior to that setback, he had established himself as a major player in BKFC, going 5-0 for the promotion with wins over former UFC champions Luke Rockhold and Eddie Alvarez, the latter of whom Perry beat to become BKFC’s “King of Violence” champion.

It won’t be McGregor, but Perry promises that his next fight is already in the works and fans will be excited for it.

“Big things coming,” Perry said. “I supposedly know some things that I’m not allowed to share and I’m waiting for them to share it and I’m just training in the meantime for my opportunity.”
