
Magomed Ankalaev and Alex Pereira needed the judges to determine a victor at UFC 313.
After five close rounds, Ankalaev became the new UFC light heavyweight champion with a unanimous decision victory (48-47, 48-47, 49-46) over two-division champion Alex Pereira at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nev., on Saturday night.

Judges Mike Bell and Derek Cleary both gave the first and fifth rounds to Pereira, and the other three to Ankalaev. Judge Sal D’Amato only gave the first round to Pereira and the other four rounds to Ankalaev.
