Jared Cannonier and Gregory Rodrigues are set for a pivotal middleweight matchup.
The two meet in Saturday’s UFC Vegas 102 main event at UFC APEX and their official weigh-ins went off without a hitch, with Cannonier coming in a 185.5 pounds Friday morning, and Rodrigues at 186 (both fighters made use of the one-pound allowance for a non-title fight).
Cannonier currently holds the No. 10 spot in the MMA Fighting Global Rankings, while Rodrigues looks to have a number next to his name if he can push Cannonier to a third straight loss.
In the co-main event, veteran featherweight contender Calvin Kattar takes on Youssef Zalal, who is 3-0 since returning to the UFC in 2024. Kattar and Zalal both successfully weighed in at 146 pounds.
The official weigh-ins saw one fight cancellation announcement and it came at a strange time. Lightweight Jared Gordon stepped to the scale at 156 pounds for his bout with Mashrabjon Ruziboev, but moments later it was announced that the fight was off. A UFC official told MMA Fighting’s Mike Heck the cancellation is due to an illness on the Ruziboev side.
Ruziboev was stepping in on less than a week’s notice for Kaue Fernandes, who withdrew due to visa issues.
