Jose Aldo takes on another up-and-coming challenger at UFC 315.

The UFC announced Tuesday that Aldo is set to fight Aiemann Zahabi (12-2) in a bantamweight bout at UFC 315 on May 8 at Bell Centre in Montreal.

Aldo (32-9) most recently fought at UFC 307 this past October where he lost a contentious split decision to the streaking Mario Bautista. The 2023 UFC Hall of Fame inductee is a two-time featherweight champion who holds the record for most consecutive title defenses (7) in that division. He owns memorable wins over Frankie Edgar (twice), Urijah Faber, Kenny Florian, Chad Mendes (twice), Marlon Vera, Renato Moicano, and Rob Font, among many others.

At 38, Aldo remains a factor in the 135-pound division and is currently No. 8 in the MMA Fighting Global Rankings.

Canada’s Zahabi seeks the biggest win of his career as he enters UFC 315 on a five-fight win streak. He defeated Pedro Munhoz via unanimous decision this past November to keep his run going and now has the chance to add an MMA legend to his résumé.

UFC 315 is headlined by a pair of title bouts as welterweight champion Belal Muhammad defends against Jack Della Maddalena in the main event, while flyweight champion Valentina Shevchenko defends her title against Manon Fiorot in the co-main event.
