Amanda Ribas and Mackenzie Dern will headline the first UFC event of 2025.
On Wednesday, MMA Fighting confirmed that the planned strawweight rematch between Ribas and Dern which was set for UFC Tampa has been pulled from the card and moved to serve as the main event of UFC Vegas 101 on Jan. 11. Alex Behunin was first to report the change.
Ribas and Dern previously faced off at a UFC Tampa event in October 2019, with Ribas taking a unanimous decision and handing Dern the first loss of her professional career. Since that win, Ribas (13-5) amassed a 5-4 record in the promotion, bouncing between both the strawweight and flyweight divisions. Most recently, Ribas competed up at 125 pounds, losing a unanimous decision to Rose Namajunas at UFC Vegas 89.
Dern (14-5) has fared slightly better, accumulating a 7-4 record, all at strawweight. Most recently, Dern won a unanimous decision over Loopy Godinez at UFC Abu Dhabi in August.
Guilherme Cruz and Damon Martin contributed to this report.
