Mike Perry wants to settle the score with Darren Till.
Following his 60-second knockout win against Thiago Alves in the main event of BKFC KnuckleMania 4 on Saturday night, the face of BKFC cut an angry promo where he called out Till for a fight in the bare-knuckle ring. The two have a long history stemming back from their days in the UFC, and Perry just wants to stop the talking and get to the fighting.
“I think that’s a fight that a lot of people have wanted for a long time, including me and him,” Perry said at Saturday’s post-fight press conference. “And he’s talking big sh*t, he’s talking his sh*t but he ain’t doing nothing. I’m talking sh*t and I’m out here doing it. So get your ass — he’s saying he’s in the gym, or whatever, and he’s working with Khamzat [Chimaev], and he’s undefeated, but he’s over in the MMA world chasing that gold.
“But I’m better than gold. I am the gold over here, I’m above it, I’m ‘Platinum.’”
Perry has found incredible success with BKFC since leaving the UFC, winning all five of his promotional appearances. That run includes wins over the likes of Michael Page, Luke Rockhold, and Eddie Alvarez.
While BKFC’s “King of Violence” doesn’t seem to fear much when it comes to the fight game, Perry says his biggest worry is leaving the fans who spend money to watch him compete dissatisfied.
“Today I went down to the lobby and I realized all these people were here to support us fighters and this event, and they wanted a good show and entertainment,” Perry explained. “The nerves that I felt, you know, I just started smiling and being nice because these people spent their hard-earned money and they come out and want to be entertained.
“I did an interview before all this and I was like, ‘That’s one thing that the fear comes from ... I just want to make sure that I’m putting on a show and I perform before I ever quit, or give up.’ And sometimes beforehand, you’re like, ‘Sh*t, man, all I want to do is, like, trip and fall and have to be taken to the hospital so I don’t have to get in the ring.’ But I love that feeling because I fight it every time, and I get in there, and I never not get in there. I always get in there, and I always do my thing.”
