Nasrat Haqparast secured his third win in a row with a blistering first-round knockout over Jamie Mullarkey at UFC Vegas 83.
It was a rapid-fire finish after Haqparast stunned Mullarkey with a hard left hand that had the Australian fighter on wobbly legs. Realizing his opponent was hurt, Haqparast rushed forward with a barrage of punches in succession as he just started teeing off on Mullarkey.
Despite his best efforts to survive, Mullarkey was just absorbing a brutal amount of punishment and after the got dropped to the ground for the second time, the referee had no choice but to stop the fight with the end coming at 1:44 in the opening round.

“Jamie Mullarkey’s a tough guy,” Haqparast said after the win. “I’m born for this. I fought the best. I think I’m ready to make my run to the top 15.”
The fighters engaged in a striking exchange almost immediately with Haqparast and Mullarkey both looking to find their range. Haqparast found it first after he stepped into the left hand that cracked Mullarkey on the chin and sent him down to his knees on the canvas.
Haqparast followed him and continued to unload punches with Mullarkey just eating the shots until he somehow managed to get back to his feet momentarily. That just opened up the opportunity for Haqparast to really let his hands go as he unleashed another vicious combination that dropped Mullarkey to the canvas again and this time the referee stepped in to prevent further damage from being dished out.
A 12-fight veteran in the UFC, Haqparast appears to be living up to his true potential with this recent win streak capped off with the knockout over Mullarkey on Saturday.
